No Such Organization Code of Conduct

This Code of Conduct is in effect at all No Such Organization events and it is expected that all participants in such an event will comply with all stipulations therein.
Section II: No Such Organization Events:
NSO is committed to ensuring that all its events are safe, welcoming, and encouraging to all participants. In order to ensure this standard, NSO outlines the following rules of conduct for all NSO events.

No participant shall engage in the following at any NSO event:

Any activity which is unlawful in the city of Poughkeepsie, the state of New York, or the United States.

Act in a reckless or intentional way that threatens or inflicts physical harm to another individual

Cause substantial interference with another individual or an individual’s participation in the event.

Attempt to discourage or otherwise prevent or limit an individual’s participation in the event.

Refuse to comply with established rules or reasonable mandates from NSO officials or officials of Vassar College.

Engage in unwelcome/uninvited physical contact or verbal exchange with another individual, remain in intentional close proximity to another individual, or intentionally follow another individual without consent.

NSO defines consent as an active, affirmative, and mutually clear communication of unambiguous agreement.

Use any device to make an audio or visual record of an individual without the knowledge and prior consent of said individual.

Act or speak in a reckless or intentional way that insults, demeans, berates, aggravates, instigates, or otherwise threatens another individual.

Use the Internet or any digital/electronic device to engage in any action outlined in this code.

Theft, vandalism, or destruction of property belonging to another individual, NSO, or Vassar College.

All participants in any NSO event are expected to uphold the following:

Respect individuals and groups of any actual or perceived race, color, religious belief, citizenship, sex, marital status, disability, pregnancy, sexual orientation, gender identity/expression, national origin, military service, genetic information, or age.

Behave in a manner consistent with maintaining a safe, welcoming, and encouraging environment for all individuals.

Comply with all established rules and reasonable mandates from NSO officials and officials of Vassar College.

Failure to comply with the NSO Code of Conduct may be subject to:
Immediate removal from an event, when and where appropriate.
Reporting to enforcement authorities, when and where appropriate.
Reports of any conduct violation may be made to any NSO officer or Vassar College official, and appropriate action will be taken in a timely manner.

Code of Conduct

No Such Organization, its executive officers and members, and Vassar College are committed to providing a safe, welcoming, and encouraging environment for any and all individuals. In the interest of achieving this goal, the executive officers of No Such Organization institute the following Code of Conduct which shall apply to all business and operations of the organization and it members.

Section I: Standards and Principles
No Such Organization (NSO), its events and operations, are open to all individuals regardless of identity and/or background.

A. NSO, its executive officers, and its members shall not discriminate against any individual or group on the basis of actual or perceived race, color, religious belief, citizenship, sex, marital status, disability, pregnancy, sexual orientation, gender identity/expression, national origin, military service, genetic information, or age.

B. NSO prohibits all discriminatory or otherwise hostile or harmful action toward any individual or group on the basis of any and all categories outlined in the above sub-subsection.

C. NSO maintains a policy of Zero-Tolerance for any and all hostile actions toward any individual or group. Such action is subject to review by the executive officers of NSO and corrective action and/or adjudication when and where appropriate.  

D. NSO maintains policy of Zero-Indifference regarding any and all hostile or harmful action toward any individuals or group. Any such action reported to or discovered by the executive officers of NSO, and/or any deputized authority, shall be addressed in the most timely and appropriate fashion possible.

E. NSO seeks to actively encourage participation in its events, operations, and management by any and all individuals or groups.

F. The NSO executive officers resolve to remain open to input from all of its members, and other individuals wishing to contribute to its effective operation and achievement of its goals.

​G. NSO is committed to supporting the goals of the Vassar Student Association (VSA) and the Vassar College administration in all relevant ways it is able. The NSO executive officers shall maintain a working relationship with the VSA.
